Well hello to you. My name is Linda a professional wedding photographer living in the Netherlands together with her husband, two kids and a cat called Kiwi.
Photography has always been a big part of my life, but for a long time not in a professional way. When looking back I always look at the world around me in compositions, and as a kid, I always brought a small camera with me when I was away.
Photography as a career has never crossed my mind when choosing an education. I studied communications. Looking back a study that is all about people.
After working in various large corporations the urge for something new was getting bigger and bigger. As a result, I started to work for a small online radio station as their social media manager, next to my day-to-day job. A way to meet new people, change perspective and be more creative.
So creative I got. In order to get interesting content for our channels, I picked up my camera.
For a few summers, I was travelling across the Netherlands with a team to capture music festivals. Focusing on young talented artists. My photography got picked up and I received my first small assignments.
At the end of 2014, I decided that it was all or nothing. The day job didn't inspire me anymore and I decided to fully focus on photography. Without any assignments I stepped into 2015 and slowly work was there. I accepted every photography job out there. From photographing newborn babies to corporate seminars. I also had a few weddings and fell in love instantly.
It reminded me somehow about music photography. I always loved just photographing the crowd, the feeling of a day in the sun enjoying music. I never cared that much for the artists and being in a pit with 15 other photographers elbowing your way for an image.
In 2016 I decided to say now to all other assignments and fully focus on weddings only.
As today I only shoot weddings and it's a fulltime job for me.
During winter I focus on some personal/ documentary projects and someday in the life sessions for families.
My approach to wedding photography is as unposed as possible. I love to look for the true identity of a couple and translate that into my images.
